The haughty lady immediately slips into flashback mode with a mushy song against scenic views serenaded by a second guy (Rayo Bakhirta). Soon enough, she bumps into the first guy with whom she apparently enjoyed a one-night stand making things awkward and secretive. 

And that’s the beginning of a series of convoluted flashbacks, which jump from Mumbai to Thailand to Goa to Ooty leaving the viewer completely lost and confounded. It takes some more scalp scratching before we learn that Guy A is her fiancé and Guy B is their wedding planner (even if all his scenes are spent on a bar stool). Who will she pick is what I pay 140 bucks to find out.Only Anish Khanna’s utterly warped, affected direction isn’t going for the rom-com treatment. He chooses to render every scene with needless mystery and a stilted ambiance of lifeless, postured passion aiming for credibility by playing against a rip-off of Yumeji’s theme (In the Mood for Love) resulting in unintended comedy every few minutes. 

Pretty visuals and a mellow soundtrack are just about the only tolerable aspects of this amateurishly directed feature. Notably, not a single character talks normally in Ishk Actually. Even the sturdy Rajeev Khandewal fumbles under the futility of a role that reduces him to a scarf and hat modelling bar prop.

Boss makes a splashy, clownish entrance a third of the way into the film, once it’s established that a sadistic cop (Ronit Roy) is bent on marrying off his sister, Ankita (Aditi Rao Hydari), to the layabout son of a corrupt high-level politician (Govind Namdeo). Ankita is in love with Shiv (Shiv Pandit, a dead ringer for Life of Pi’s Suraj Sharma), who happens to be the younger brother of Boss (Kumar). Boss was disowned by their father over a deadly misunderstanding during his childhood, so it takes a pretty major crisis for his father (Mithun Chakraborty) to be willing to ask him to help vanquishing the bad guys.

Three of the stars of Boss are familiar faces to two generations of film lovers: Chakraborty, a top star of the 1980s, anchors his role with a sense of decency; Danny Denzongpa is charismatic as an elder crime don who takes the disowned Boss under his wing as a boy; and comedian Johny Lever is endearingly over-the-top.

If there is a redeeming feature to Boss, it lies in its theme of love and honor between fathers and sons. Many Indian movies have revolved around a mother’s love, but this is a refreshing change. Boss is at its core a man’s film — its climax features a lengthy hand-to-hand combat scene between Roy and Kumar —and there is precious little feminine eye-candy to be seen. In fact, the film has no female romantic lead at all, outside a quickie appearance by Sonakshi Sinha in a dance number.

The recently launched trailer of Krrish 3 shows a promising culmination of India’s own superhero franchise. The trailer which pumps up your adrenaline shows some amazing stunts performed by Hrithik along with the special effects which are at par with any Hollywood superhero film. The film looks to be a thorough big screen entertainment where Krrish takes charge to obliterate the evil. The trailer shows the film retaining its old characters
– Priyanka Chopra as Priya Mehra, Hrithik as Rohit Mehra and Krishna Mehra, Archana Puran Singh as Priya Mehra’s boss, Rekha as Sonia Mehra – while leveling up the story with few other characters.

The trailer opens to Rohit deciphering the power of solar energy bestowed upon him by Jadoo, our in-house version of E.T. While Rohit is busy with his experiments, the evil forces are already taking charge of the world in the garb of ‘Kaal’, the super-villain played by Viveik Oberoi. Although Viveik’s look has been kept undercover so far, his proficiency at the role has been praised by the Superhero himself! The first teaser of YRF’s Dhoom 3 is out and it simply takes your breath away. Aamir Khan’s bike stunts and Katrina Kaif’s trapeze act makes this teaser a must-watch.

The teaser opens with the skyline of Chicago, and then Aamir Khan’s voiceover slips in. “Bande hain hum uske, humpe kiska zor, umeedon ke suraj, nikle chaaro or, Irade hain fauladi, himmati har kadam, apne haathon kismet likhne, aaj chalein hain hum”. A bowler hat on his head, Aamir stands in the window of a skyscraper, looking at the sprawling metropolis.

Well, he’s the cunning, elusive, sly thief who gives a slip to the cops on his bike. Chasing him is Abhishek Bachchan on a rope ladder suspended by a chopper. There’s also Uday Chopra showing a few freewheelies on his bike.

Sachin-Jigar are indeed flying high this year with chartbusting music in successful films like GO GOA GONE and RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA, and one expects some high quality music from the duo, especially for the premier Yash Raj banner. 

The two Chauhans, Mohit and Sunidhi, are simply outstanding in 'Tere Mere Beech Mein', a number that one warms up to instantly due to the easy to hum, infectious tune, the superb chorus and simply irresistible music arrangements that comprises of instruments like guitar, accordion, sax and street sounds like horn, whistles. Jigar Saraiya and Priya (Panchal) Saraiya team up for 'Gulabi', a sort of a tribute to the pink city, Jaipur, where the film is based. It is a lovely composition that has a dew fresh tune composed around Rajasthani folk and embellished with Hindustani musical instruments like harmonium, table and 'sarangi'.
